To maintain a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for our students, communication between teachers and the head of teaching are imperative! To ensure this, we require 1 meeting a week with the Head of Teaching, Alysia McClung, and 1 meeting a week between Senior Teachers and Teaching Fellows who are collaborating.
During your weekly meeting with Alysia, you will discuss strengths and areas of growth in your classroom, discuss student feedback, and address any questions or concerns. Please make sure you Slack message or email Alysia to set up a schedule for these meetings.
During weekly meetings between Senior Teachers and Teaching Fellows, discussion should be centered around student progress and classroom management discussion. These meetings should be 15 minutes in length. Please ensure you add Alysia McClung as a guest to these meetings, should she need to join them. While not required, we do have an outline for these meetings, available here. Please contact your applicable Senior Teacher or Teaching Fellow to schedule these meetings.
We also encourage a weekly 1 on 1 meeting with Learning Coaches, in order to create a strong and cohesive learning environment. To ensure proper and consistent communication between teachers, we require you to fill out a table, elaborating on what was discussed during your LC meeting. This document can be found here.
All of these meetings are limited to 15 minutes, and are compensated.
As an innovative new way to reach the classroom in the digital age, Yaizy has requirements to ensure the best quality of learning.
Every teacher working for Yaizy is required to fill out a weekly internalization form, which should take less than an hour to complete. This time is compensated, and is a requirement. These internalizations ensure that our teachers are fluent in their content, and can teach confidently. This form is located here.
