School often blocks video and audio from 3rd party resources even if user gave access to their camera in mic, if the firewall blocked the YaizY Platform, for students it will look like on the screenshot below.

• They won’t be able to see or hear the teachers
• Teachers won’t be able to see and hear the students.

How I can understand that school is blocking firewall

• [ ] Step 1. Ask students to turn their cameras and mics on
• [ ] Step 2. If you won’t see any reaction, you can as students ‘Please, raise your hand if you can hear me’. If no one raised their hand, it’s likely firewall issue
• [ ] Step 3. Inform YaizY tech team immediately.
• [ ] Step 4. Use Zoom Protocol (see below): create meeting on Zoom and use platform only to work on interactive slides

Please note that Zoom + YaizY is NOT a default option. Please use this setup only if it was confirmed by the Product Owner (Kseniya or Evgeniy)

• Zoom is used for video conferencing, chat, screensharing, discussions in breakouts
• YaizY Platform is used for classic slides, interactive slides (quizzes, open-ended Qs, card games) and breakouts (only if there’re different slides for different groups in breakouts) </aside>

Step 0. Be prepared

Make sure that:

1. Zoom is installed and updated on your PC/laptop
2. You have access to the YaizY Zoom account (please message your contact person - Ksen
3. You can do following things in Zoom:
   1. Create Breakout Rooms
   2. Manage Breakout Rooms
   3. Assign Co-hosts to your meeting

Step 1. Launch Zoom meeting

1. Open Zoom app on your laptop

2. Go to the ‘Zoom Video Conferencing’ section and press ‘Start’ here

   

   Click on ‘Meetings’ and then click on the blue ‘+’ button

   Click on ‘Meetings’ and then click on the blue ‘+’ button

   

   Click on ‘Create event’

   Click on ‘Create event’

3. Make sure that following features are enabled by default:

   1. Automated recording to your Zoom cloud storage (it will only record videos / screenshares in Zoom). YaizY platform won’t record anything
   2. Waiting Rooms
   3. Screensharing is enabled for everyone
   4. Continious meeting chat is disabled

   Then click on ‘Save’
